Stop being nosey...

This is not what you think…or maybe it is (you will have to read it to find out!...I won’t keep you long…)

“Some things are unnecessary to know but require us to be open and make room to grow.”-The Future informing you that your nosiness is currently not helping

“If we knew all the details of our journey…would we be too overwhelmed to go?”-The Reality of our Present, The Moment of Now

No need to nosey, just make room for growth.

I'll be honest, I strongly dislike…writing this post but I know I need to say it for myself and anyone else that may relate….

Remember Don’t Take the Elevator…” be a step-taker?!?!?

As we all smile and nod, Mmmhmm… “yea, what about it?!”

WELL…
We never talked about wanting to take the elevator up for a little peek…look around…and gaze/be in awe/fantasize at what will soon…SOON be ours…

Then, come back down and take the steps!

You know what I’m talking about???

Those moments when we Want or appear to Need all the details… FIRST before taking the FIRST step or maybe taking the next step (like me)
+Really visualizing where we want to go, become, grow, be, influence…
(And we can be here forever, HELLO!!!)

But in all that excitement…questioning and uncertainty came…and maybe YOU, ME, WE stopped,
Said, “This isn’t me”…
”Girl YOU Crazy”…
Or thought, “How will this (my placement right now) lead to that?”

Maybe you thought all of that above and still took the next step, and didn’t like the result or didn’t see how that outcome could land on greater?

And from all those thoughts, I reflected.

I sat on my floor in silence as all my questions began to roll/breathe/talk/…try to get me in fear and complete uncertainty…

I recognized how crazy all those thoughts and questions were…

AND I STOPPED and just breathed

(…)
Realizing I forgot to acknowledge/notice/welcome/invite/recognize the trusting factor that allows us to keep what is important RIGHT NOW, in our focused perspective.

So if you haven’t understood the title just yet…

I was being nosey about my own life and not giving myself room to grow into my dreams and wanting to leap for the big dream before I’m ready. As amazing as questioning can be…to go crazy with questioning concerning the path of your dreams…it welcomes in doubt and it’s relatives worry and fear.

“So where did YOU go from there Lauren?!”---I know that’s what you were thinking…so I said it!

I started this for 2013 and I remind myself of it time after time, crazy situation after situation…rehearsing this silly after that silly!--> “Is this permissible conversation profitable…is this important right now? If not, then shut it down and walk away…let it drop!”

+++Push back on comments/thoughts that lead to negativity and doubt…and all other unnecessary-ness (yep, new word on the scene!!!)!

Let me say this (Quick GYC Rant…if I may, and I’m done):
I’ve watched people talk themselves out of what they know they are meant to become by trying to figure things out before it’s time. We meet the big dreams young as the smaller ones in between follow after.

Let’s be real/honest/simply tell the truth…we met our big dreams but now it’s time to get to know them and all their relatives (smaller dreams) without giving up and remembering to trust.

Josie Bissett said it:
“Dreams come a size too big so we can grow into them.”

And she is right! It’s just like old slewfoot to get us in a rush and start brewing up our own negativity to throw us off track…but WE Are Bigger, Better and Stronger than that!!!

“Sometimes we don’t need to know the whole story before attempting to read the book, we just need to know and trust that the best is yet to come!”-The Truth about our Present

So “Stop being so nosey”…relax, breathe and enjoy the journey!

Also…Please stay tuned for Next Monday’s webisode…The whole month of March will be webisodes!!!

I write what I speak.

GYC Girl Speaks…Quote & Commentary Week

“The story you speak into your own life will shed light onto the path you take.”-The Present & Future (In deep GYC Thought)

In preparation for next month’s webisodes…I decided to write a post that cuts straight to the chase...even the title doesn’t waste time!

This week, I wanted to focus and actually connect the Question for Thought with the Post!!!!!
Say What????? I know…I rarely do that…like ever…never!

Talking about the Question for Thought… “What is the quote(s) of your life?” relates to the movement, vibe, joy and peace that you find in a moment of stillness, when or probably after all craziness breaks loose... or you’re in need of confirmation/evidence/approval/verification (all of that) for your present situation…these “quotes” or whatever term you would like to use, bring you back to your reality that says,
“I am worthy, deserving and enough…and NO ONE has the right to tell me anything different.”

So for this post,

I decided to focus on and create GYC’s own quotes and “Crazy…all over the place” commentary (on some) for the sake/reason/purpose of going deeper. The quotes were birthed in and from real situations, conversations, and observation.

In creating, I began to think about the “things” I am allowed (and I use that lightly) to say and speak into other’s lives and where they allow it to take them…
Even if that’s nowhere or “Girl/Lauren YOU Crazy”!

Then, I thought about the “things” other’s say to me…and I to myself, and where it takes me…*Hints the quote at the top*

And the story of the GYC Quotes unfolds…

“I’ve learned that if I want it, I have to fight for it because persistence can’t be ignored.”

“So I dream to escape and uncover my new reality…”

“If you don’t want to hear about my struggle, then I’ll never tell you about my success…you’ll just have to wait until you can Google it.”

GYC Commentary
We’ve all had those moments whether it was big or little, simple or extravagant… that someone wanted to know how we got “such and such,” why were we able to go to ____________(fill-in-the-blank)…or how did you do that??? While some genuinely want to know the story to encourage themselves on their own journey…you’ll find that others don’t care and just want to know the end result…and if it can possibly benefit them.

Our story is rich, no matter where we started, and any success we have… came from building/climbing/reaching/believing beyond what was in front of us… So if you do NOT want to hear or be a part of the journey/process/struggle... but partake of the success...
Well other than that being foolishness...it is irresponsible and a false representation of our persistent life. “If you want the cake…you have to know how it’s made baby…or is it sausage!?”

I learned this the real life experience way, not only in being annoyed by people wanting to know why and how I have what I have…but learning that it takes knowing the whole story to build and last.

“WE all have a platform and what we do with it is our responsibility, pay attention to the impact because the ‘chit chat’ about another’s only diminishes our own.”

“You might see me getting up…but you will never see me down.”

GYC Commentary
You’ve heard this quote said and written many ways about “falling down and getting back up” but there is a moment when it is unknown as to HOW to get back up…and this quote emphasizes/highlights…throws muscle milk at it to add to the "can do" attitude of that moment!

It is our declaration (in a GYC rant) that “Yea I may have failed, messed up, made a complete fool of myself but I’m not going to lay there like I have no hope... just because I’ve fallen does not mean I cannot and am not getting up.”

“Understand your vision and make way for its obstacles.”

“I’ve recognized the difference from my own experience…that quitting and discontinuing carry their own story.”

GYC Commentary
Quitting is giving up and discontinuing is stopping/putting an end to something you should not have began or definitely should not continue. I realized the difference, time and time again as I entertain and attempt certain things that I SHOULD and SHOULD NOT do…and that is all I’m going to say about that.

“Love where your journey is taking you or get up and go in another direction.”

Think on that…

“Passion will always set you apart from those that have become routine as an art.”

GYC Commentary/Personal Story
My Senior Thesis class involved building and presenting a project that we wanted to pursue/make/implement/produce in our real lives after college... whether this was a week later or a few years from now… Overall, we were building a business and presenting it in a way that was self-explanatory.

That’s right…turn in a business plan and have a visual that does all the talking…if you needed to talk about your business for other’s to understand…you’re presentation was not successful…your work needs to speak for itself and work as a stand alone.

Although many of us never did that before…it was one of the best lessons in business presentation that I’ve learned…and one of the main reasons I create with passion because it speaks louder than words.

Let the difference be passion as it will continue to speak after you leave the room…passion speaks louder than words.

In all of this and moving forward, I’ve learned that passion is an innate/”birth given” (if that makes sense) fuel that allows whatever anyone is talking about to be intriguing and inspiring…no matter what the actual “thing” is or looks like…it will not and does not go unnoticed.

“I may not like what you do but I can appreciate the passion that breathes when you talk about it.”

So when it is all said…and done…

“My pen and paper allows me to create and escape to the life I build towards.”

I write what I speak.

I didn’t want to go…

Let’s be honest, this path I’m on called my journey…I didn’t want to go.”-The Honesty of Lauren Alicia (Coming soon to a theatre near you…not really!)

How often do we make plans that appear so simple and achievable…? Then… as we attempt/proceed/move in the direction to make the first step in our amazing plan, the planned step is nowhere near the actual step we take/make???????????

And that is the reasoning behind this post’s title “I didn’t want to go…”
No worries, it ends well!
But I can’t promise the relationship with “I didn’t want to go…” is over…and be honest, I won’t speak for you but YOU (yes, YOU) have a thing going on with “I didn’t want to go…” too!

Anyway…

Quick Simple GYC Definition(s):
+Didn’t = DID NOT, negative thought for the actions taking place
+Want…desire to, not a necessity or necessary but aligned with my wishes
+Go = movement, travel to

Therefore, when I say, “I didn’t want to go…” all of that above is what I mean…

Now let’s proceed!

GYC Personal Story
At this point in my life, I can look back and say, “I didn’t want to go”, and I was wrong, Wrong, WRONG, and in spite of all the kickback I gave…the impact of my paths were strong.

Like many kids and teens, I made up my mind about many things that would take place in my adult life and stuck to them for a long time, then forgot about them…then remembered…
Which is how/why I can write this post today…

But the things I had decided on, I felt so strong and passionate about… that if I did anything against the plans, it would ruin the amazing story of my life.

I know, All the Drama, I was and still am it
and even went to the library to back up these plans with biographies and proven resources.

“A fully determined mind cannot be stopped from an attempt.”

One of these “great” ideas was something I stated in one of the first GYC posts
“I didn’t want to go to college.”

That’s right, I said it!

As much as I dreamed of going to Parsons School of Design (where I graduated) and living in NYC, I wanted NYC without the college connection. I found this book that backed up my plan about careers without college…and I was ready to go!

Side Note: Although I didn’t want to go…I did make sure that I could go wherever I needed. I’m pro-preparation for wherever, however your dreams need to be achieved…as long as it’s legal…

But as I began to walk toward that moment, I realized the plan I set in motion mentally lacked in physical step-taking detail…and even the smaller steps in a possible college life lacked detail in application…meaning, I was NOT prepared like some are to have a career without college, and even so, the program I first applied to, showed/proved my vision lacked vision beyond one dream.
(I eventually got it together…well that part…the rest is still a great journey)

Your dreams will always make provisions for the mistakes you make against them, if you’re willing to admit you were wrong.

So…

Now, my moments of not wanting to do something or go somewhere remain as simple thoughts that don’t keep me from entertaining/attempting their potential ability…to increase my life.

Regardless of how crazy…or lack of understanding/comprehension/I just don’t get it…an opportunity/path/route looks… I realize all these dots connect, and taking knowledge from each allows me to be the person I am today, moving in forward motion.

GYC Last Thoughts
My journey is far from over, and not at all free from me saying, "I don't want to go" or "do something" but my pride won’t get in the way of saying, “I was wrong.”

We all have our own definition of success…so whether we do, don’t or didn’t want to go…take the time to recognize if this undesired path will lead you to your definition.

“Admitting you’re wrong sets you up for what is right!”-Recovering Wrong People

I didn’t want to go…but I’m glad I did.
