GYC Week Wrap-Up: Purpose allows you to celebrate & share what you know

But here are my notes…

You may not think that you have a purpose or a purpose greater than the “thing” you are pursuing/doing today…

You may not know that you have the ability to change the world…

Or moments of unworthiness keep you from approaching what you know belongs to you…

…Or maybe none of the above applies to you and you just want to know what GYCGirl is talking about…

It’s cool!!!

But please know that I am able to talk about having a purpose because I’ve felt like all of the above before, and I’m on the other side and fighting to remain on the other side right now…

And let’s get 1 thing clear…

THERE ARE NO IF’S, AND’S OR BUT’S ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE A PURPOSE, IT’S NOT UP FOR QUESTIONING “IF” YOU DO.

What you need to know is…

“What is it?”

What I understand in realizing I have a purpose are 4 things:

1.Forgive yourself of your past, mistakes, feelings of unworthiness…whatever could be holding you back or placing you in moments of self-doubt!

When we continuously forgive ourselves of the past, we no longer accept the fact that we are not good enough because of this or that. Forgiving ourselves allows us to know that our mistakes are not the end of the world and that we can get back up to turn in the right direction.

When I learned to say “I was/am wrong” I allowed for growth in my life as the knowledge and understanding of what it means to walk worthy regardless of your past, showed me, forgiveness is the most amazing repair kit.

2.Accept that you do have a purpose no matter how much you question otherwise!

You could be having the worst day ever where everything is going wrong, no one understands what you’re talking about, and it seems like no one cares…AND YOU WILL STILL HAVE A PURPOSE that needs YOU to LIVE IT OUT!

Accepting that you have a purpose is a matter of using your voice and walking worthy, which is why forgiveness of self is so important…without it you might think that NO one wants to hear what you have to say, ever!

Then, the other side of that is…going in the wrong direction…and thinking that your purpose changed its mind…FALSE!!!!!!!!!!!! You can attempt to do everything possible in the opposite direction and your purpose will still be there waiting and sending a million signs to turn around!

No matter how rough life gets…YOU ALWAYS HAVE A PURPOSE TO FULFILL AND THE WORLD IS WAITING FOR IT…so those behind you can carry the baton next.

We all have a role to play, the world and generations after NEED us to play are part!

3.Understand Rejection| What it is and is not!

If everyone said, “No” would you think your purpose no longer existed???

Understand what rejection is and is not…PLEASE!!!

The simplest way that I can explain it is…

Rejection is not a reflection of YOU but a reflection of what does not belong to YOU.

Allow what is for you to be for you because only we are fit (and able) to handle what belongs to us…so, be confident in who you are and thankful for the no’s and the yes’s.

Be thankful when people say, “NO” because it allows and prepares you for the right people to say, “YES”!

GYC Side Note (Quick) Rant: Please reflect before taking the advice from someone (family, friend or acquaintance) to beat down a closed door…because you just may be attempting to remain traveling in the wrong direction…please don’t live distracted or sign for packages from slewfoot!!!

4.Enjoy the journey of getting to know yourself…live the dream you dream!

Because I’m in the process and continuously surrendering who I am today for who I might be tomorrow…I’ve recognized that although I have BIG DREAMS…my purpose has allowed for smaller dreams in between!

And the special thing about that is…those smaller dreams are just as important and necessary for me to achieve if I want to go after the bigger dreams...fulfilling my purpose.

Remember small can land on greater!

It can start as a seed and grow into a tree!

Freedom

Living and breathing out

all of you

by a non-existing

box

as a looking glass to gaze through,

use as a format,

example,

blueprint

of the stamp and label

placed upon

many

too few to count

who have yet to identify

freedom

therefore given and believing

something false

to know

and trust

as their truth

So

when we say

FREEDOM

oh so often we use it

as a tool to stand

and declare

but some of us

don’t even know

its name,

the characteristics,

its personality,

the uniqueness of its fame

I’d rather tell you

You are free

than ignore the truth

of you being bound

by reality

not yours

but the one

re-created

told to you

and delivered as the accurate genuine inner makings of you

yet to be realized

because it is disguised

as your ________<<< “truth…”

when you look in the mirror

let’s all finish the line

Not a personal attack

but for me to even write,

Right this

I have to look within

day in

and humbly admit…

do I really know freedom,

and do I live like it knows my name

Bigger than any word

A gift we’re all given

but many of us refuse to live it

It’s cool,

it is a constant self-reality check

If an interviewer asked

“Is it a fight to be you,

the real you?“

Would you really say,

“YES”

Given the moment

to be introduced to

Freedom,

the stress and pressure

that you were actually built

to push through and progress

No faking the funk,

taking time to open up

and no longer masking

The privilege,

the true

and accurate

genuine

inner makings

of the

FREEDOM

to be

YOU

go wherever that may lead

Fight to consider

only your designed beautiful truth

Leaving behind

…that just really isn’t

REAL

But a prison with an indefinite sentence.

Stop being nosey...

This is not what you think…or maybe it is (you will have to read it to find out!...I won’t keep you long…)

“Some things are unnecessary to know but require us to be open and make room to grow.”-The Future informing you that your nosiness is currently not helping

“If we knew all the details of our journey…would we be too overwhelmed to go?”-The Reality of our Present, The Moment of Now

No need to nosey, just make room for growth.

I'll be honest, I strongly dislike…writing this post but I know I need to say it for myself and anyone else that may relate….

Remember “Don’t Take the Elevator…” be a step-taker?!?!?

As we all smile and nod, Mmmhmm… “yea, what about it?!”

WELL…

We never talked about wanting to take the elevator up for a little peek…look around…and gaze/be in awe/fantasize at what will soon…SOON be ours…

Then, come back down and take the steps!

You know what I’m talking about???

Those moments when we Want or appear to Need all the details… FIRST before taking the FIRST step or maybe taking the next step (like me)…

+Really visualizing where we want to go, become, grow, be, influence…

(And we can be here forever, HELLO!!!)

But in all that excitement…questioning and uncertainty came…and maybe YOU, ME, WE stopped,

Said, “This isn’t me”…

”Girl YOU Crazy”…

Or thought, “How will this (my placement right now) lead to that?”

Maybe you thought all of that above and still took the next step, and didn’t like the result or didn’t see how that outcome could land on greater?

And from all those thoughts, I reflected.

I sat on my floor in silence as all my questions began to roll/breathe/talk/…try to get me in fear and complete uncertainty…

I recognized how crazy all those thoughts and questions were…

AND I STOPPED and just breathed

(…)

Realizing I forgot to acknowledge/notice/welcome/invite/recognize the trusting factor that allows us to keep what is important RIGHT NOW, in our focused perspective.

So if you haven’t understood the title just yet…

I was being nosey about my own life and not giving myself room to grow into my dreams and wanting to leap for the big dream before I’m ready. As amazing as questioning can be…to go crazy with questioning concerning the path of your dreams…it welcomes in doubt and it’s relatives worry and fear.

“So where did YOU go from there Lauren?!”---I know that’s what you were thinking…so I said it!

I started this for 2013 and I remind myself of it time after time, crazy situation after situation…rehearsing this silly after that silly!--> “Is this permissible conversation profitable…is this important right now? If not, then shut it down and walk away…let it drop!”

+++Push back on comments/thoughts that lead to negativity and doubt…and all other unnecessary-ness (yep, new word on the scene!!!)!

Let me say this (Quick GYC Rant…if I may, and I’m done):

I’ve watched people talk themselves out of what they know they are meant to become by trying to figure things out before it’s time. We meet the big dreams young as the smaller ones in between follow after.

Let’s be real/honest/simply tell the truth…we met our big dreams but now it’s time to get to know them and all their relatives (smaller dreams) without giving up and remembering to trust.

Josie Bissett said it:

“Dreams come a size too big so we can grow into them.”

And she is right! It’s just like old slewfoot to get us in a rush and start brewing up our own negativity to throw us off track…but WE Are Bigger, Better and Stronger than that!!!

So “Stop being so nosey”…relax, breathe and enjoy the journey!

Another Chance to Dream

I didn’t lose focus, my heart just expanded.

Sometimes we think we’re only given one dream, one BIG goal to achieve, you dream a new dream after we reach the “top”…

Or so I thought!-It’s cool, I’ll be the honest one here, whatev’s.

It’s that moment when we feel the need to give whatever “it” is, all we have. Then when we do, and the results don’t appear to be in our favor, we go back to drawing board and wonder…:

“Was this really my big dream?!?!?”

Maybe I need to try a new route, maybe I need to do this, or maybe I need to do that? Maybe, maybe…Maybe!

But in the moment of thought...reevaluating/reflecting/just really thinking about how YOU, Me, We got here…

We pause

Side Note: This post is not about getting rid of the bigger dream but recognizing you have been given room for other dreams in between.

GYC Personal Story (that will make sense…if you want it to)

I know I’ve talked about running track…and discontinuing “that” but you should know, I played soccer next (for a moment).

Honestly, I’ve never wanted to play team sports…because it required a team effort…all at the same time, not like your appointed/designated/given time on the track.

I learned what it’s like be on a team and need a team to win. Class projects can need teams (groups) but when it's all said and done, it may be a lot of work but you can do it all yourself (been there, got the t-shirt to prove it)…BUT it's pretty hard to win a game all by yourself.

“Girl I don’t care about you playing soccer!”---Just wait…

When I first started, I played on the indoor soccer team where the coach explained my role/position on the field as all of them… “You’re fast enough to play the entire field (of course the field was much smaller than outdoor) so that’s your job when you’re out there”…and I did, although I was terrified and setting myself up to possibly be embarrassed (no, I did not play this sport before hand). ---And yes, my dad flipped and was all “Girl YOU Crazy” as did other parents and coaches from the track team…I never needed or more importantly wanted sports to get into college or be my career. *Quick Note: I knew enough about myself to be myself.*

Indoor soccer was my 1st forced and known encounter with versatility (giving all I had at one time)…yep!

But what I learned was…

Versatility opens your eyes to many things… but when you’re so focused on the one big dream…it gets hard as you appear to have moved on from waiting and preparing for the big dream. Even in starting GYC, I was asked many times about my dream to be a shoe designer and if that was still there…it is.

However,

Really, really Quick Rant…I had to…

One day I sat down to really think about all the things I wanted to do (after I realized it wasn’t time to pursue shoe design in the way I had planned)… 

A vision of me doing these other things (pre-Big Dream) started to form as I began to start all of these ventures such as writing a book…no, not “Don’t Take the Elevator…” which you should read, share and print…gift…all of that…have fun!

As these visions birthed as my own and not as ventures that I wanted to propose to businesses, I realized that I got another chance to dream, think and live more than one dream, be the steward over more than one gift and realize that it all can and will happen in its timing.

Example: The Truth about GYC Girl YOU Crazy

GYC was no way near my idea of giving back nor the non-profits that I had dreamed about owning and running after I was full on grown (and had all of my businesses in full swing). HOWEVER, as GYC began to take form in front of you all…as it still does today (6 months strong and counting), a friend of mine told me that GYC Girl YOU Crazy is just like me.

Open your eyes to more…you never know what is waiting to be birthed RIGHT NOW! The bigger dream is amazing but the journey can be greater.

What do people always say on Twitter…“Be the YOU…YOU always dreamed of being…today”---I don’t know something like that… well…that’s the GYC Girl YOU Crazy version of it (quote me)!

GYC Last Thoughts

Every now and then again…You, Me, We need to wake up and get lost in our dream(s) and the possibility of all of them happening… by developing their details.

Live and pursue YOUR own dreams for the love of YOUR sanity.
